Well, not really easy. The cockies moved in to start eating from the start of January. A long dry summer this year meant lots of irrigating was needed and some of the nuts suffered sunburn. Yes believe it or not those nuts that are not shaded by the leaves get cooked by the sun. Only a small percentage of the crop hopefully.
Carol teamed up with her nephew Todd, to trial some scary sounds for the cockies, and Mike bought another gas gun. Our days are divided into patrols around the orchards for everyone from dawn until duskand various methods to scare those pesty birds.
